Our Beginning

PNG.jpg

You Need Coffee is a family business, founded in August 2011. Our love and passion for coffee begun from seeing how it can connect people with each other, while drinking a cup of coffee on a sunny terrace and sharing stories.  Our concept is inspired by our grandparents who were artists sharing joy through their sculptures and paintings. Coffee is also its own piece of art, and we see it as our mission to point out its beautiful natural flavors and share them with as many people as possible.

Our Roasting House

Since 2016, we are focusing on roasting our own beans. Our first roasting house was based in the beautiful artist village of Ein Hod. In 2017 we moved our roasting house to Jerusalem, to our shop in Jaffa 78. Understanding the characteristics of each coffee and bringing it out through our roasting is our main concern. We focus on the natural flavors of the coffee and we want to share this joy with as many people as possible!

Our designs

All of our designs are created in-house!

Our monkey logo was designed by our roaster, Yaviel Ben Zvi, inspired by the legendary Monkey King, Sun Wukong, from Chinese mythology.

The artwork featured on our coffee bags was created by our grandparents, Gedaliah and Rachel Ben Zvi—renowned artists and among the founders of the Ein Hod Artists’ Village in Israel. Together, they worked across tapestry, painting, and sculpture. Their art celebrates the wonders of nature, the beauty of creation, and the deep love and connection within the family.
